Earlier this year, although Yellow Pages directories were not officially recycled through schools, several were still brought in to Delabole Community Primary School.

Rather than throw them away, the children of Class 4 decided to use them to build a raised vegetable bed in the playground.

The runner beans they planted have grown up the fence and produced a really good crop of beans which have been sold at the schools weekly garden shop. When the beans die back, the whole raised bed will be composted, so no waste at all!
