COP turned comedian Alfie Moore, star of his hit BBC Radio 4 comedy series, It's a Fair Cop, is returning to Launceston Town Hall on Friday, October 25 from 7.30pm with his new stand-up tour show A Face for Radio.

“I always love visiting Cornwall and am looking forward to enjoying a Cornish cream tea – with jam before cream of course,” said Alfie.

Having reached the wrong side of 50, and with 20-plus years of shift-work and being frequently punched leaving him with ‘a face for radio’, a massive opportunity came knocking to transition him from radio to TV star. Could he grab it or had Father Time decided that his time had passed?

The audience can expect Alfie’s trademark hilarious police stories from his time on the front line, including those accompanied by his best-ever policing partner – his German shepherd dog Zeus. Along with sharing his thought-provoking views on topical policing issues, in this show he also gets personal with his feelings about family and getting older.

A true story about aging and ageism that’s both personal and packed with punchlines. All delivered in his irrepressible, interactive style.

At the age of 16 he left school, with no qualifications except his reputation of ‘class clown’, to take an apprenticeship in the Sheffield steelworks. When recession hit he traded steel for copper by joining Humberside Police.

He recently retired after more than 20 years’ service with Humberside Police. His roles included front-line response, drugs squad, public protection team, tutor unit, neighbourhood sergeant and detective sergeant specialising in domestic violence and vulnerable adults.

Alfie uses comedy as a powerful ‘voice’ to raise awareness of topical policing issues including writing and performing his own BBC Radio 4 comedy series. A ninth series of this critically acclaimed show has been commissioned for early 2025.

On October 26, Alfie will be heading to Paignton to perform at the The Palace Theatre, one of numerous location across the UK where he will be sharing his story.
