LUCKY winners of Elly's Pembrokeshire flag are Marilyn and Peter Mitchell from Pembroke Dock.
Five-year-old Elly made the draw last Wednesday just hours after she had visited Radio Pembrokeshire where she was interviewed by Ollie Cole about her flag and fundraising.
Elly, a pupil at Pembroke Dock Community School, won a competition at her school by making a collage of the Pembrokeshire flag. She and her parents decided to raffle the flag in order to raise valuable funds for the refurbishment and upgrade of Ward 10, the dedicated cancer ward at Withybush Hospital.
The winners were announced on Ward 10 Flag Facebook Page as soon as Marilyn and Peter had been contacted and had agreed to the 'publicity' that comes with such a well-known prize!
They are more than happy for Elly to continue to use her flag to raise funds for Ward 10 in future events.
Marilyn commented: "Peter and I are delighted to have won this flag and very pleased to have been able to support Elly's fundraising for Ward 10, a very worthy cause. Wishing Elly and her flag continued success."
Elly will present her flag to Marilyn and Peter in a couple of weeks and will be on a float at Pembroke Dock Carnival on August 1, where with the help of Peter Stock, Pembrokeshire flags will be sold and the proceeds will be added to Elly's fundraising total.
The amount raised on JustGiving is £2,040 so far, with collection boxes from all the Pembrokeshire branches of Barclays Bank, Pembrokeshire Cancer Support and Withybush Hospital CDU Appeal Charity Shop still to be counted.
Donations can still be made on JustGiving 'Ward 10 Flag' and by direct payment at all Pembrokeshire branches of Barclays Bank Elly's Pembrokeshire Flag (T905).
