The Observer had a special visitor on Friday afternoon for five-year-old Elly Neville called in with her Pembrokeshire flag to say thank you for all the coverage for her fundraising activities.
Elly, a pupil at Pembroke Dock Community School, won a competition at her school by making a collage of the Pembrokeshire flag. She and her parents have now decided to raffle the flag in order to raise valuable funds for the refurbishment and upgrade of Ward 10, the dedicated cancer ward at Withybush Hospital.
"The fundraising is doing really well with over £1,200 so far," Elly's mum Ann told us. "On the way home on Friday, Elly said that she thought it would be nice if the money went towards some 'plumpy cushions and fluffy blankets so the people who had to go to hospital would be comfy.' Bless!"
There is still time to be in with a chance to win Elly's flag by making a donation through JustGiving - Ward 10 Flag. Alternatively, you can text FLAG88 with the amount you'd like to donate to 70070.
Donations to Elly's fundraising can also be made at Pembrokeshire branches of Barclays Bank (Fishguard, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Narberth, Pembroke, St. Davids, Tenby) quoting 'Elly's Pembrokeshire Flag.'
Local cancer charities Pembrokeshire Cancer Support and Withybush Hospital Cancer Day Unit Appeal are also supporting Elly's fundraising by accepting donations.
