SO he did it! Tintern doctor Richard Gale walked 62 miles in 24 hours with seven minutes to spare and just one blister to nurse.
After featuring in the Review in May appealing for donations, he has since raised around £800 with more trickling in.
For the second year running, Mr Gale walked from London to Brighton in aid of Blind Veterans UK after seeing first-hand the work the charity does to help ex-service men and women blinded in action, as well as veterans who have lost their sight through accident, illness or old age.
Richard said: "I completed the walk in 23hr and 53mins and survived it very well and only incurred one blister! I'm still looking for people to donate and this can be done either by visiting http://www.justgiving.com/Richard-Gale4/">www.justgiving.com/Richard-Gale4/ or making cheques c/o Tintern Surgery."
