Janey Comber, Cornwall Councillor for Camelford, recently delivered a survey to the residents of Camelford and one of the main concerns to arise from this was litter. To co-incide with the Keep Britain Tidy week, Cllr Comber asked the Street Scene team to go to Camelford with the sweepers and have a bit of a clean up. Camelford Town Councillor Philip Lessels joined Cllr Comber to 'litter pick' in the main street, to help Dougie Cleave, the council employee. Cllr Comber said: "I have to say I think the town is kept very well by Dougie, but it is a thankless task, as by the time we got back to the Market Place there was already fresh litter which had been dropped. Cigarette ends are a real nuisance and so unsightly, and there are plenty of bins provided. The shop owners have gone to a lot of trouble to paint and improve their buildings, and it is such a pity to see people dropping rubbish." Apart from sweeping the pavements and roads, the team gave all the rubbish bins a pressure wash and disinfection as well.
