POLICE want to trace a motorist involved in a hit and run accident with a cyclist just outside Abergavenny.

A 52 year old woman from Crickhowell, suffered minor injuries when she was knocked off her bike by an overtaking Land Rover Discovery.

The accident happened on the A40 between the Llanwenarth Arms and Glangrwyney just after 5pm on April 21, a Tuesday.

The cyclist was heading towards Brecon when the collision happened.

She was taken to Abergavenny's Nevill Hall Hospital for treatment.

A police spokesman confirmed the beige-coloured Discovery did not stop at the scene of the accident.

Anyone who saw the accident, or who might know the driver sought, should contact police on 101, quoting log 402 of April 21.
