CREWS from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service successfully rescued a dog which had fallen down a 20 metre mineshaft near Port Issac yesterday (February 11).
The team received a call from a member of the public who notified them of the incident.
A spokesperson from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: “Appliances from Delabole were mobilised along with a wholetime officer. On arrival crews requested the mobilisation of the line rescue appliance from Bodmin and the Unimog with the line rescue pod Tolvaddon.”
The arrival the crew found one dog which was stuck down the shaft – crews were able to sectorised the incident and a line rescue team rescued the dog. Following the rescue, crew members remained on the scene and the dog was safely left in the care of its owner.
