DEVELOPER Crest Nicholson has unveiled audacious plans to begin construction of the Brightwells scheme including demolishing the Redgrave Theatre prior to the expiry of planning permission this August without secured funding.

Crest was granted planning permission for the scheme - proposing new shops, restaurant, an Odeon cinema and 239 flats on land south of East Street - by its development partner Waverley Borough Council in 2008.
