A CINDERFORD couple are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary today (June 3).
Don and Marion Wylde, of Dockham Road, married at Lydney Registry Office and went on to have three children, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Don, who was born in Steam Mills, was a miner before he worked for Gloucestershire County Council while Marion, who was born in Yorkshire, was a cook at St Whites Primary School for 14 years.
She also worked as a chef at the Dilke Hospital for seven years and Westbury Nursing Home for four years.
Marion said: "I met Don at a dance at the Miners Welfare Hall, in Cinderford, when I was 15. Don was 20. Two years later, in 1950, we got married.
"There are no secrets to our long lasting marriage – just simply taking each day as it comes and spending time with family."
