A VACANCY has arisen on a Torridge town council after the resignation of a councillor.

An official notice reads: “Notice is hereby given that due to the resignation of Councillor Kirstie Stone, a vacancy has arisen in the office of town councillor for the above town (Holsworthy Town Council).

“If by October 11, 2024, (14 days after the date of the notice), a request for an election to fill the said vacancy is made to the returning officer by ten electors for the said town, an election will take place for said vacancy.

“If no such notice is given, the town council will fill the vacancy by co-option.”
