Stricter rules regarding retrospective planning works in Tenby need to be introduced, a local councillor has said this week.

At a meeting of Tenby Town Council on Tuesday night, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown told her colleagues that they seemed to be dealing with amendments to planning applications in the town after work had already started on properties, on a regular basis.

"We need to ask Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority to do something about all this retrospective planning, as everyone seems to be getting away with it," she commented.

"Maybe the threat of a fine from the authority might deter some people putting in stupid retrospective applications. They need to be stronger about it, then people wouldn't get away with it so much," continued Clr. Mrs. Brown.

The Mayor, Clr. Paul Rapi, said that it definitely seemed to be becoming a common feature and that the National Parks didn't seemed to be too bothered about it, which was concerning.

Clr. Mrs. Brown asked for a letter to be sent to PCNPA on the matter from the town council.
