CORNWALL Council has apologised after two traffic wardens gave out incorrect parking information to a motor-cyclist which later resulted in the rider being issued two £50 parking fines.
When a motorcyclist, who wishes to remain anonymous, parked in Launceston's Walkhouse Car Park, they were told by two taffic wardens (civil enforcement officers) on separate occasions, that they could park their motorbike in a car parking bay, for free. However, on returning to the motorbike, they were shocked to see a yellow parking ticket issuing them with a £50 fine.
Friend, Norrie Waters claims the council's signs in the car parks are "misleading" to motorcyclists because it states motorbikes can be parked anywhere that is not causing obstruction. It fails to point out that motorcyclists will have to pay for a car parking ticket if occupying a bay.
