IN LIGHT of the Royal Mail's announcement to increase stamp prices, a Bude man has devised his own unique way of delivering peoples' mail.

Graham Eccles started his own postal service using his penny-farthing, an adapted unicycle, on April 1, but this was no April Fool's joke.

He delivers letters in and around Bude, Poughill and Stratton, for just 25p, a significant decrease in the average stamp cost, which is set to increase from May 1. First class stamps will rise from 46p to 60p and second-class stamps from 36p to 50p.

It was this hike that inspired him to set up his businesses.

He said: "It seems to have taken off really quickly."

Graham is hoping to introduce post boxes in the Bude area schools to encourage children to write.
