HM Coastguard confirmed it has stood down its searches for a person who was reportedly in difficulty off the coast near Bude.
On June 4, many residents in the Bude and Stratton area reported spotting a number of emergency service vehicles in the area, including those from the coastguard.
However, HM Coastguard have now confirmed that their searches have been suspended.
A spokesperson from the service explained: “The alarm was raised at about 9.20pm. The search involved Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bude and Hartland; two HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopters; and RNLI lifeboats from Bude, Appledore, Clovelly and Padstow.
HM Coastguard stood down the search, pending further information, on June 5 at about 5pm.
“Devon and Cornwall Police and South Western Ambulance Service were also involved.”
