A SUPERMARKET based in Bude has responded to community concern after its ‘sudden’ closure.

Residents of the seaside town took to social media to express their concerns after a sign was found posted on the retailer’s door yesterday (April 28) stating that the shop would be closed until further notice.

Residents will be pleased to find out that the closure is not as long-term as some initially thought.

When approached for information, a spokesperson for Co-op explained: “The store opened as usual this morning to serve the community.

“It closed a little earlier than usual yesterday (Sunday evening) for maintenance, we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
