Clawton Young Farmers' 'wet weather' Summer Ball recently took place at Higher Larkworthy Farm by kind permission of the Kirk family.
What had been a wintery weathered week cleared up for a successful ball. Everyone danced the night away in a marquee to a band and disco accompanied by a hog roast. The support of the event raised £3,236.49 for Devon Air Ambulance. The officers and members would like to thank everyone involved in making this ball a fantastic event.
Another successful event held by Clawton Young Farmers was this year's rally hosted at the Arscott Hall, Tetcott and fields by the kind permission of Mr and Mrs S Axford. With all seven clubs attending (Bradworthy, Buckland Brewer, Clawton, Lewdown, Shebbear, Winkleigh and Woolsery) the rather wet rally day was a huge success.
An increase in entries of which were of extremely high standard was great to see and made the judges jobs a great deal harder. Prizes went to girls, Senior Emma Hopper (Winkleigh), Intermediate Claire Bellew (Buckland Brewer), Junior Sarah Hookway (Winkleigh). Prizes that went to boys, Senior Richard Mann (Buckland Brewer), Intermediate joint Andrew Hookway (Winkliegh) and Neil Grills (Buckland Brewer), Junior Lewis Moore (Woolsery).
Overall Club winners for the event went to Clawton. Thanks have been extended to the kind sponsors and all the judges, stewards and officers on the day.
