The Parent & Teachers Association (PTA) of Clawton Primary School has recently been very busy raising funds to purchase a life-saving defibrillator for the school.
The defibrillator will be a valuable addition to the school and local communities’ medical equipment, helping to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff visitors and villagers.
The PTA organised various fundraising events, including a silent auction, and their mini festival, ClawFest which is planned for July 1, to raise the necessary funds.
The community and local businesses have been so supportive of the cause, and many companies generously donating to sponsor ClawFest.
Thanks to the efforts of the PTA and the generosity of the community, the school now has a defibrillator that can be used in the event of a medical emergency. This is a significant achievement for the PTA, which is committed to ensuring that the school is a safe and healthy environment for everyone.
The defibrillator has been placed just outside the school gate making it accessible to the school and villagers in the surrounding area. All of this wouldn’t have been possible without local charity Jay’s Aim who have part funded and supplied the defibrillator. They are also going to be running a training session on November 9, which is available to school families and the public (limited spaces available). This will ensure that anyone who experiences sudden cardiac arrest can receive immediate and appropriate medical attention. The school PTA have also been provided with a grant towards this equipment by another local charity The Balsdon Trust.
A spokesperson added: “Clawton Primary School PTA would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who has played their part in this.”
