THE Horn of Plenty restaurant at Gulworthy has raised an impressive £7,640 for Macmillan Cancer Support services at Derriford this year, by hosting its famous charity lunches.
This is the sixth consecutive year that the Horn of Plenty has supported Macmillan Cancer Support, and brings the grand total raised to an amazing £44,461.
Lunches ran from January to March in the two AA rosette restaurant at the boutique hotel, where guests enjoyed lunch at a reduced price. Guests were invited to donate to Macmillan Cancer Support to help fund local services.
Local fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, Sian Ward-Edwards, said: “We continue to be incredibly grateful for the support of the Horn of Plenty and its guests. Every year more people need our support, but we rely on donations from the community to continue to fund cancer nurses and other professionals to help people from diagnosis and through treatment.
“Huge thanks to the Horn of Plenty and their guests for their amazing support over the years. They are truly making a difference to people facing cancer.”
Owner, Julie Leivers, said: “We are very grateful to all our guests for their generosity in supporting Macmillan Cancer Support. It’s a charity that’s close to everyone’s heart and we’ve very proud to help.”
