THE chairman of the Bude Branch of Cancer Research UK, Ray Shaddick, thanked the organisers of the 'Lakeside Lopp' after receiving a cheque for £1,079 on behalf of the charity at a Bude Golf Club presentation on Wednesday, November 23. The event consisted of a lopp (walk) around the Upper Tamar Lake, followed by home-made refreshments and a barbecue. There was also a junior fishing competition, superbly run by Mr Barry Hockridge and Mr Colin Blackburn — the latter a qualified fishing instructor.
