WITH the Easter bank holiday fast approaching, Torridge District Council is reminding residents that there will be some changes to their usual waste and recycling collection days.
All refuse and recycling collections normally due on March 29 (black bag, recycling, garden waste) will be collected one day later on March 30.
Collections for the week commencing April 1 will also be one day later than usual for the whole week.
Easter egg packaging is made of various materials such as cardboard, plastic and foil. These materials can be easily and widely recycled, for example: cardboard box - brown bag; plastic egg packaging - green box; foil wrap - green box.
Cllr Chris Leather, lead member for waste and recycling, said: "Easter eggs and other gifts typically generate more waste, so it is important that we keep on recycling throughout the bank holiday weekend. Please check the council's website and social media for more information. Thank you for recycling and supporting the service. I hope that everyone has a great Easter and enjoys the bank holiday weekend.”
The normal collection schedule will resume from the week starting Monday, April 8. For further information on collection dates and times, visit www.torridge.gov.uk/forms/firmstep/wastecalendar.html
