AT the recent annual meeting of the Launceston Men’s Probus Club past chairman Richard Hart handed over the chain of office to new chairman, Terry Parker. Mr Hart has, in the past, been involved at a high level with the Royal British Legion and other local organisations, while Mr Parker is known for his bakery shops in Launceston, which his family still manage.
Many of the other committee members continued, as before, with Jim Elliot as secretary and John Moir as treasurer.
The new members to the committee include Jeff Jamieson as vice-chairman, and Tim Casey.
Mr Parker thanked Mr Hart for all his work and efforts during the previous year, in spite of difficulties with a leg operation, and told members about the way he wanted to lead Launceston Men’s Probus Club and introduce new events in 2016.
