CAMELFORD Co-op staff proudly presented a grand total of £5,525 to the three recipients of the Co-op membership 1% community fund.

Little Acorns have been given £1,824, Camelford 1st Scout Group £1,811 and the Town Trust £1,890.

The community fund is raised by members who earn 1% back for their community on every Co-op own brand product they buy, members also get 5% back for themselves to spend within the business.

Members can either let what they have raised be divided equally between the three charities or select which one they want all of their money to go to. Store Manager Nick Park said: “I’m really proud we have been able to give this money from the Co-op to three such good charities all from money raised by our members.

“The more this community uses their membership cards the more we can give to the next round of applicants. If you are involved in a local community good cause or charity and would like to be entered into the next round of applications visit coop.co.uk/membership. Good luck.”

The fund runs for six months and then three new causes are selected. Nick added: “If you are not successful the first time you apply please don’t let that put you off — keep applying again and again because if you are selected the benefits are here for all to see.”
