A TOWN council has said it appreciates the patience and understanding of residents amid repeated delays in the launch of the electric vehicle charging points and a new ticket machine in one of its car parks.

Camelford Town Council says that issues encountered by the contractors undertaking the works in its Churchfield car park is the reason why the new service has not yet launched.

It is not yet clear when the machines will be switched on, although the council said it will share any updates with residents ‘as and when they are received’, adding that they appreciate the patience and understanding regarding the matter.

The update comes in the latest of what has been an ongoing saga, with parking permits having been renewed free of charge for several months while the work has been undertaken.

A spokesperson for Camelford Town Council said: “We are sad to report that there are still ongoing delays regarding the ticket machine and EV chargers in Churchfield due to issues encountered by the contractors.

“We are yet to be provided with a switch on date for the machines, but will continue to provide news and updates as and when we receive them. We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter.”
