THE proposed closure of Camelford's Highfield Dental Practice has come as a shock to residents of the town.

The announcement was made after tenant, Oasis, gave its notice and is now planning to focus on the Bude practice.

This means the National Health Service (NHS) and Primary Care Trust (PCT) resources will be removed and clients will have to sign up to practices elsewhere.

Jim Milner of Centrepiece, said: "It is bound to affect the town, people have got to travel and there is nowhere else around here to go."
