BUDE-Stratton Town Council have announced that the grand opening of Compass Point has been postponed.
Following the recent reveal that the town’s long-awaited Storm Tower opening was finally within view, the council has announced today that the event has been postponed until the end of March.
Since work began in April last year, the site has been looking less than familiar, with each stage of the project providing a new silhouette standing over Bude.
Almost a year on, the council revealed that March 5 would be the day marking the grand opening of the completed tower.
However, a spokesperson for Bude-Stratton Town Council has now announced: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the postponement of the opening ceremony originally scheduled for this coming Tuesday. The relentless rain has unfortunately prevented us from completing the essential groundwork, leaving parts of the site completely impassable.
“For the health, safety, and enjoyment of all, we've decided to move the celebration to Tuesday, March 26.”
