A NORTH Cornwall town is saying its goodbyes to one of its much-loved residents.

Bude and its surrounding areas has said goodbye to one of the town’s iconic locals, affectionately known as ‘Meth Cat’.

It was announced this week, that Meth Cat had passed away.

The feline - real name Snowy - belongs to Holly and Jon Highet who have taken care of her for more than 16 years.

Her skin condition, which has given her a ‘distinct’ look and her friendly nature has endeared her to locals, with many feeling as though they have a cat of their own.

“I’d like to say a personal thank you for all their love and support for Snowy.

“We thought a little memorial at the carnival would be nice. So, we are going to go and support the against animal cruelty/ animal free research stall.

“We’ve asked Bude to dress in something cat – ears or paws - in her memory on the day. If anyone wants to donate anything then the Cat’s Protection League would be very grateful.

“She passed on Thursday - world cat day - in the arms of her favourite person Violet after being diagnosed with cancer. She can join the cat Rave in the sky now.”
