BUDE and Stratton branch of the Royal British Legion were hosts of the Schools Art Competition at their Burn View Headquarters.

Four local schools accepted the invitation to enter the competition, namely, Bude Infants, Bude Juniors, Stratton Primary and Marhamchurch Primary.

The children were asked to produce a piece of work depicting 'The Poppy' in any media they chose. Everyone who was fortunate enough to view the entries was impressed with the standard of work.

Paddy Kyle, Bude and Stratton RBL President and Peter La Broy, Mayor of Bude and Stratton judged the work and certificates of appreciation will be presented to eight of the pupils, representing all four of the schools.

The winners were: James Ball and Summer Thomas from Bude Infants; May Orr-Wilcox and Alexandra Street from Stratton Primary School; Karina Moxon and Odinn Bates from Bude Junior School; and Charlie Butler, Sky Harris and Bradleigh Tape from Marhamchurch Primary School.

The President and members of Bude and Stratton RBL send sincere thanks to the children and their teachers for their hard work.
