A MAN from Bude is taking on a mammoth challenge next May, in hopes of raising at least £500 for a charity close to his heart.
Paul Crum from Bude is taking on The Forces March, a 220km walk from Ilfracombe in North Devon to Bulford in Hampshire in five days, which equates to more than 25 miles a day. This route is the training route that some UK forces used prior to D-Day in 1944, which makes the challenge a fitting tribute as Paul hopes to raise £500 for the Veteran’s Charity.
Paul said: “All money raised will be to help veterans. I served 15 years as a medic in the army and fortunately I have never had to call upon a charity, but this safety net definitely needs to be there for any veteran to call upon in their hour of need.”
The challenge will be taking place in May 2020. As the founder of Bude Rubbish Action Group, Paul has also vowed to take his litter picker with him to pick up rubbish as he goes.
