A seaside town in North Cornwall officially welcomed the festive period last week, as they held their big lights switch on.
On Friday, December 8, mayor of Bude-Stratton Cllr Mike Dawe led the town in a countdown to illuminating the area with festive lights.
Accompanying the mayor in the Triangle was one of the town’s young residents, Fenna, who previously created a video presentation for the council asking for trees within the area to be ‘looked after and not cut down’.
Using a more eco-friendly tree, it was only apt that she assist the mayor in switching on the lights.
A spokesperson from the council said: “The event attracted a fantastic crowd reflecting the close-knit community of Bude. Following the switch-on attendees enjoyed the festive atmosphere and took part in Bude’s Christmas Late Night Shopping.
“The town council extends its thanks to all who joined, contributing to a memorable start to the festive season.”
