A BUDE charity has issued an urgent plea to donors to not leave items outside of its shop.
The RSPCA charity shop in Bude, which is independently run of the national RSPCA charity, has said it is unable to take donations which are left outside, meaning they have to be treated as rubbish.
A spokesperson for the RSPCA Bude shop said: “Please stop leaving donations outside of the RSPCA charity shop.
“This is a polite reminder that any donations left outside the shop will not be accepted. We have a notice on the door and opening times for a reason. We are well aware that on occasion, our opening times can vary but this is due to a limited paid hours and volunteers. We are not a national RSPCA.
“We have to pay to get rid of rubbish which in turn is damaging the charity when donations have to be disposed of due to a lack of donor care.
“We would also like to remind everyone that we do not accept electrical goods, and these too have been dumped outside of the shop. Dumping donations outside the shop on a public street is fly tipping.
“If you are unaware of what you are able to donate then please call and text us prior to coming down with donations so you can avoid possible disappointment on 07732 173874.”
