A bridge that had been closed as part of flood defence works in Bude has been reopened until the end of October half term.  

Locals and visitors to the town are able to once again cross Nanny Moore’s Bridge in the short term.  

Further, Bude-Stratton Town Council have invited residents to an event to be held at Bude Methodist Church next Thursday.  

It is an event where the Environment Agency will discuss the ongoing Bude flood defence improvement scheme and take questions.  

A spokesperson for Bude-Stratton Town Council said: “Good news! The bridge is open now through to the end of October half-term. 

“Safety fencing is in place, but please exercise caution in the area.  

“It has also been stated that the bridge may be closed at short notice for safety reasons depending on the type of works being carried out at that time.  

“It will close for a minimum of three weeks in November/December (exact dates tbc). We’ll let you know as soon as we know. 

“Mark your calendars for October 12, 1pm to 3pm at Bude Methodist Church. The Environment Agency invites you to a stakeholder drop-in event to discuss the Bude flood defence improvements.”
