Chris Pringle, owner of Spencer Thorn Bookshop, Bude, has completed his childhood ambition of walking the entire 90 mile length of Hadrian's Wall, Northumbria, from East Coast to West Coast.
Chris commented: "I had the most amazing week, the weather on the whole was very good, really warm one day, whilst day five felt like I had spent the day walking in the shower! The countryside and views in the Northumbria National Park are breathtaking, and I'm pleased to say that everything went according to plan, and not a blister in sight.
"I averaged 15 miles each day for the six day walk, and on the final day was really sorry to see it end, I had enjoyed it so much I was tempted to turn around and do it the other way!"
Chris did the walk in memory of his father, who died of heart disease three years ago last week. He raised sponsorship for the British Heart Foundation, in particular The Moving Hearts Appeal, in conjunction with North Devon Hospital.
So far Chris has raised over £1,500, donations can still be made into at the bookshop, or online at http://www.justgiving.com/chrispringle">www.justgiving.com/chrispringle.
