TREGADILLETT Brownies enjoyed a day at the zoo recently.
The trip to Paignton Zoo had been planned for several weeks but very nearly didn’t happen! Sadly Brown Owl missed out on the trip due to illness and as she was going to drive the minibus for the day, the trip was almost cancelled.
Fortunately, there were not too many Brownies going and it was decided that everyone could be transported in cars instead so the girls didn’t miss out!
Luckily the weather was kind on the day, which always makes things nicer and everyone had a great time. Of course seeing the animals and learning about them was wonderful – especially as some of the animals are now stars on CBBC!
Everyone had brought along a packed lunch to eat while at the zoo but before travelling home, they all went into Torquay and enjoyed fish and chips on the sea front.
Thanks have been extended to the Rotary Club of Launceston, for their donation to the Brownies that allowed them to go on their summer trip to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Unit’s opening. Also thanks to Snowy Owl (Beth Martin) and Emma Boucher for looking after the girls on the trip.
