A NEW skate and cycle track is keeping kids in Blakeney entertained this summer holiday.

The project, which is in the community green, is part of the recent regeneration of the area and funded with a grant of £4,700 from Gloucestershire County Council's Active Together scheme.

The "brains" behind the concept was well-known local community activist Rose Peatey.

She said: "This is a great open space where youngsters can skate and cycle in a safe environment."

County Councillor for Blakeney, Richard Leppington added: "I was delighted to be able to help Rose. She has done such a lot for the community in Blakeney. She is a real unsung hero."
