There are currently seven million people in the UK living with heart and circulatory disease and 3.2 million people living with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, of whom 90 per cent have Type 2 diabetes. A further 630,000 people also have Type 2 diabetes, but do not know this yet at they have not been diagnosed.

Tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday, the Big Collection will take place at Tesco in Pembroke Dock, with the aim of raising vital funds for the BHF and Diabetes UK as part of the major national charity partnership between the two organisations and Tesco.

The three year partnership between Tesco, Diabetes UK and the BHF aims to raise millions of pounds to change lives. It will help millions of people to reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes, both of which are largely preventable by eating a healthy diet and getting active, as well as helping to fund the vital work of Diabetes UK and the BHF across the UK.
