"Great! Best civic service and luncheon ever" is how Mayor of Narberth and chairman of Narberth Civic Week, Clr. Mrs. Elizabeth Rogers, has described the opening of this year's week-long summer spectacular.

Celebrations began on Sunday, and events have been in full swing every day, although it was too wet for the children's treasure hunt on Monday, so this will be rearranged for later in the summer.

Festivities conclude tomorrow (Saturday) with the traditional street fair in the morning, followed by the highlight of the week, the carnival in the afternoon.

Motorists are warned to expect delays while the parade takes place from 2 pm.
