DEVON Wildlife Trust's judicial review against a planning decision's impact on a Chudleigh bat roost will be heard in Bristol High Court today.
The trust is opposing Teignbridge Council's decision last October to grant outline planning permission for 230 homes to be built at Rocklands, Chudleigh.
The trust says the development will affect an internationally-important site where female greater horseshoe bats congregate to give birth and raise their young, just 170 metres from the proposed houses.
And the bats are to be further protected in Buckfastleigh as part of a Lottery-funded project headed by the wildlife trust.
