VISITORS to the show theatre were entertained by Launceston Town Band, Launceston Male Voice Choir and others.

Town band musical director Colin Gay said: “We always enjoy our local show. It’s always nice to get round and meet people every year. Some members are also showing animals so we support them as well.”

The band also looks forward to its series of concerts ‘brass on the granite’ in the town square every Tuesday from 7.30pm, weather permitting.

Launceston Male Voice Choir members said they were ‘delighted’ to bring some of the repertoire and new songs to the show. They were also joined for a performance by show president Jack Neale, who is a member of the choir.

Peter Williams said: “We had a very appreciative audience. We had a group at the back of the tent who cheered us — youngsters in their 20s and 30s! We have enjoyed being welcomed back and being here.”

Launceston Town Band is looking to teach more players and recruit more senior players who can help with the teaching.
