Now in its third year, Art Out West showcases exhibitions of artists' work in their homes, studios and galleries in Pembroke Dock, Pembroke and the Castlemartin Peninsula.

It is a unique opportunity to discover the environments where artists work and the thoughts and processes behind their art.

The event will be launched at Castlemartin Community Cafe tonight (Friday, May 22) from 6-8 pm with a raffle of artists work, music from Shanty Le Hara and seasonal sharing boards by Cwtch Coffee.

Then tomorrow (Saturday, May 23), there will be a Beach Art Day at Freshwater East from 1-5 pm. This is a free event encouraging anyone and everyone to come and create artwork on the beach alongside local artists. There will be giant sand drawings, sculptural installations, music and more.

Art Out West is about breaking down barriers and making art accessible to all, raising the profile of artists and craftspeople in the area and making sustainable art in the environment. There will be an exciting range of work on display including paintings, linocuts, screen prints, photographs taken with a pinhole camera, ceramics and chainsaw whittled oak sculptures.

The open studios and exhibitions run from May 23 until June 7.
