AN appeal for information has been launched after a child received ‘potentially life changing injuries’ in a road traffic collision near Week St Mary.
Two vehicles, a Nissan Qashqai and a Volkswagen Tiguan collided at a set of crossroads, with the impact seeing a six-year-old boy taken to Bristol Children’s Hospital with serious injuries.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision at a set of crossroads at Wheatley Road and Highmoor near Week St Mary.
“The collision occurred on Wednesday, August 28 at 5pm and involved a black VW Tiguan and a red Nissan Qashqai.
“A six-year-old boy, a passenger in the Qashqai, suffered potentially life changing injuries and was taken to Bristol Children's Hospital. The drivers of the two cars were uninjured.
“Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed for the investigation to take place.”
