TINTANGELS Pre-School in Tintagel held a special day to celebrate this year's World Book Day, dressing up as favourite book characters to highlight the joys of reading and sharing books.

The pre-school is one of thousands across the UK and Ireland marking the occasion by showing how magical books can be.

Lucy Huckle, manager said: "We look forward to book day each year, and always try to make it extra special. Good reading starts early and children who share books with others are more likely to develop those all important early language and literacy skills. Our World Book Day is a fun way to get our children imaginations fired up and encourage them to become avid readers."
