A WOMAN was found guilty on Friday of manslaughter in connection with the death of a Broadwell man in his own home last October.
Amanda Howard, 46, of Edinburgh Place, Broadwell, kicked and punched 66-year-old Gerald Nott at his house in Queensway, causing him fatal head injuries.
Ms Howard was found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter following a trial at Bristol Crown Court.
She was remanded in custody to appear at the same court for sentencing on May 22.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Ian Ginn said: "This was a vicious and cowardly attack on a man in his own home.
"We hope Amanda Howard's conviction will at least provide some comfort for the victim's family.
"The judge himself paid tribute to Gerald's family and Amanda Howard's family - saying they had both shown great dignity throughout the trial."
