The new build for Acorns Pre-school, Whitstone, has been successfully completed to schedule and was officially opened by Cllr Phil Tucker.
He commented at the opening: "I would like to say that while we are standing here outside this fantastic building, it is easy to forget the tremendous hard work and perseverance that has preceded this opening."
Cllr Tucker expressed thanks to all those involved and those that helped to make the project a success.
He added: "I am sure we are all convinced that, through the efforts of these people, Acorns Pre-school will be able to provide a valuable service to the community and to Whitstone school and I am sure everyone here would like to show their appreciation to all these people for their support and involvement."
The new building has been constructed to be as environmentally friendly as possible. It maximises natural daylight and natural ventilation using renewable organic materials.
The children can enjoy a great space to play and learn, with access to school's woodland garden, plus a covered decking area for shelter on wet and windy days.
A spokesperson from the committee said: "The project has come together beautifully and the new building is one that we are all very proud of meeting all of our specifications and requirements.
"The interior now looks as good as the exterior with books, games, paints and toys all ready and waiting to be used!"
