LAUNCESTON Lions Club held its 40th charter anniversary lunch on Sunday — and four charter members returned as guests for the event.
Around 90 Lions and guests from across the South West, from as far away as Cheddar, Babbacombe and Honiton attended.
In proposing the toast to Lions Clubs International, Lions Club president Helen Bailey mentioned the activities, which had kept the club busy during the past year, and how it had developed over the past 40 years. She said it was pleasing that four charter members were able to attend, and one is still a Lion in Holsworthy Club.
A spokesperson for the club said: "This was felt to be a very special occasion as it was due to them starting the club that it is still here today."
