Police and South West Ambulance were called to a house in Wonnacotts Road, Okehampton in the early hours of Saturday morning where a 60 year old female occupant was pronounced dead.

The full circumstances of her death is unclear but the police are currently treating it as suspicious at this time.

A 64 year old male, who is believed to be known to the victim, is currently in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of her murder.
