DETECTIVES from Tavistock CID are investigating a series of residential burglaries that have occurred in Lifton and Lewdown during November which are believed to be linked.
The first offence occurred in Lifton between November 1 and 15 while the occupants of the address were away on holiday.
The other burglaries, two in Lifton and one in Lewdown occurred between November 21 and 22. Once the properties were entered, valuable items including jewellery and electronic equipment have been taken.
Police know that the offence in Lewdown occurred on the evening of November 21 because the offender was disturbed by the occupants but made off prior to police arrival.
Detectives are appealing for any information which may assist with the investigations, especially if members of the public have seen any suspicious persons or activity in the area.
If you have any information that you think could assist the investigation, then contact Tavistock CID on 101 quoting crime reference number CR/108494/18.
Historically Lifton and Lewdown are very low crime areas so when a series of similar offences occur it is unusual. Police would just ask members of the public to remain vigilant and pay particular attention to their home security, especially in the run up to Christmas.
